This was long before cell phones existed so he had to walk in the rain to find a pay phone if he needed to call a tow. Honest, I wasn’t trying to fight with him, till he decided to fight with me. Lesson learned: wide, high performance tires will hydroplane before narrow, inexpensive ones.
